Our athletes train with top-level coaches and have access to elite facilities, including Carleton University’s High Performance Centre. With 3–4 practices each week, competitive league play, and high-profile tournaments, players get the development and exposure they need to stand out.

Phil Miguel is a former U Sports All-Canadian and a respected leader in Canadian basketball. With a standout playing career and a deep understanding of the game, Phil has seamlessly transitioned into coaching, where he continues to inspire and develop top-level talent as a coach with Ottawa Elite.
Renowned for his basketball IQ, competitive drive, and ability to connect with athletes, Phil brings both experience and mentorship to every team he leads. His dedication to player development and passion for the sport make him a key figure in shaping the next generation of elite players.
Jo Jean-Pierre is a dedicated leader in athletic development, with a strong foundation as a former high-level athlete and seasoned coach. With coaching experience that spans from RSEQ collegiate programs to elite-level youth teams, Jo has built a reputation for excellence, mentorship, and competitive performance.
As a former RSEQ Collège coach, Jo played a pivotal role in shaping student-athletes on and off the court, emphasizing discipline, teamwork, and academic balance. Currently, as a coach with Ottawa Elite, he continues to guide emerging talent, focusing on skill development, strategic growth, and fostering a championship mindset.

Osvaldo Jeanty is a highly accomplished Canadian basketball coach and former professional player, widely regarded as one of the greatest players in Carleton University Ravens men's basketball history. He is also a member of the Ravens' Hall of Fame.Jeanty made history as the only athlete in Carleton's history to win five national championships in a team sport, achieving this feat in each of his five seasons (2003-2007). He is also the fourth player in Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) history to capture five CIS titles. He was named the CIS Championship MVP twice, during his freshman and junior campaigns.
Jeanty played on the Canadian Men's Senior National Basketball Team in 2006 and 2007, representing Canada at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro. After graduating, he played professional basketball in Europe, primarily in Germany, from 2007 to 2013, with stints in Romania and Morocco, and also played in the NBL Canada.
Osvaldo began his coaching career coaching with the Ottawa Guardsmen for the 2013-14 season and from 2014 to 2016, he served as the Head Coach of the Cegep de l’Outaouais Men’s Basketball Team.
From 2016 to 2019 Jeanty returned to his alma mater as an Assistant Coach for the Ravens Men's Team, contributing to two more national championships and two OUA titles. During his coaching tenure with the Ravens, the team achieved an impressive 119-7 overall record.
In 2020, Osvaldo was appointed as the inaugural Head Coach for the Ottawa BlackJacks of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL), reuniting with his mentor and former coach, Dave Smart, who served as the team's General Manager.
Jafeth Maseruka is an Ottawa native and graduate of St. Patrick's High School, with a distinguished collegiate career at Carleton University, where he was a First Team All-Canadian in 2001-02, named to the CIS Tournament All-Star Team in 2002-03 and the OUA East First Team in 1999-00. He also won a national championship with the Carleton Ravens in 2003.
After his collegiate career, Maseruka played professionally in Iceland and Qatar. He has served as an Assistant Coach with the Ottawa BlackJacks in 2020 and rejoined their staff in 2025. He also served as an Assistant Coach with his former Carleton Ravens team for five years.
Beyond coaching, Maseruka has been a police officer with the Ottawa Police Service for over 12 years. He is also involved in community initiatives, co-founding Ottawa Hoopstars, a team of volunteer officers and community members who play basketball with children across the city, and the Athletes Combating Racism initiative with his mentor and former Carleton Ravens coach Dave Smart.
